How I'm dividing things up

OK, I've decided that I actually want to keep this blog just for political or politics related rants. So, no more posts like the last one. I have another blog, managed by iWeb, here at mac.com. I will be posting all Mac-related or non-politically sensitive technology related things there.

Mac Mini

Well, I haven't gotten around to the nuclear power thing, yet. But let me talk about Apple's new products. Specifically, the new Intel based Mac Mini and its lack of built-in DVR hardware. People just don't get the point here; why would Apple compete with itself by including a DVR? Let me try to state this plainly: Apple sells TV programs. DVRs are used to record TV programs for free, removing the need to purchase them from Apple. Therefore, Apple will never include DVR features on any Mac, and anyone who is holding out for that needs to give up. The concept is that you do not need a Cable TV account; all you need is broadband internet. Instead of dealing with TV schedules, or any of that, you just purchase the episodes you want to watch, and watch them whenever. That's the model Apple is pushing; a DVR would be off-message, off-putting, and counterproductive to their ends.

This is a test

This is a test of Kung-Log, which came highly recommended by MacWorld magazine. Thus far, it certainly does seem much fuller-featured than BlogApp. It's also compatible with MovableType, should I ever make that jump.

Update: It doesn't work as well as I'd hope.

Staying in Iraq is Important

It should be pretty bloody clear that we're in for the long haul in Iraq. Any student of history can easily see that all these little demonstrations against us, all the little disgruntlement.... that's totally normal. Happened in Japan, happened in Germany. That's just the way things are. I think the proposal to have India send 15,000 troops is very interesting. Why India? Well, they have a lot of experience occupying Muslim areas, that's for sure. I don't know if that's a good thing, in this case, though. It would go a very long way towards solidifying the growing relationship between the US and India. It sets things up nicely for a full-fleged WWIII. I'm not in the ranting mood.

It has been forever

Well, it has certainly been a long time since I've made a post. Basically, I'm only doing it now because I'm testing to make sure I still can!
